Library
Here at St. Oliver Plunkett’s Primary School, we understand the importance of fostering a positive attitude towards reading. Reading improves focus, memory and communication skills. Our school has successfully created a wonderful space for reading to flourish in that of our School Library.
Our School Library was revamped in 2023 and has become a bright, vibrant and attractive area for our pupils to engage in all aspects of literature.
Our library boasts a Senior Section comprising of over 2500 titles, a Junior Section dedicated to our younger students, a Non-Fiction section, and finally our Irish Section, which includes a selection of popular books such as ‘The Gruffalo’ and ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid ‘ as Gaeilge.

We are lucky to have an active library committee that consists of our sixth-class students. Our committee ensure our library is kept in working order and inspire many novel and creative ideas throughout the year to promote reading in the school.
